Olivia Buckland and Cara De La Hoyde’s friendship on the rocks just weeks before wedding
OLIVIA Buckland and Cara De La Hoyde’s friendship is on the rocks just weeks before Olivia is due to walk down the aisle with Alex Bowen.
Things have become very strained between the pair since Olivia announced that her Love Island co-star would no longer be her bridesmaid in a shock move.
At the time Olivia, who appeared on the show in 2016, claimed it was a mutual decision and would be better for Cara who is now a busy mum.
When the news broke, Cara took to Instagram and posted a long and moving post about being left out by friends after having her son Freddie, which appeared to be a pointed message at her former BFF.
An insider told us: “Cara is devastated. She feels like it's because she's a mum and Olivia has been cruel. Cara posted that Instagram message the day the news broke that she'd been dumped.
“She tried to put a brave face on it but she's devastated. She wishes friends who don't have kids would understand that life changes completely when you have a baby.”
They added: “The friendship is on the rocks.”
Olivia, 24, will marry fiancé Alex, 27, this month after they met on the ITV2 show two years ago.
She had asked new mum Cara to be by her side - but retracted the offer after Cara agreed she was taking too much on.
Discussing her decision, Olivia said: "Cara’s got baby Freddie now and when I asked her she was a lot less busy and I thought she could handle the pressure.
"But we spoke about it and she's so busy with Freddie and she’s got so much on her plate that I felt like it was pressuring her."
Love's Island 2016 star Tina Stinnes will still be a bridesmaid along with Olivia's childhood friends.
Shortly after she revealed her U-turn decision Cara, who is engaged to Nathan Massey, took to Instagram to post an emotional message about the realities of being a mum.
She wrote: “Being a mum comes with constant pressures and sometimes, disappointments. You can pre-plan something for months and the baby gets sick so you can’t go, or a friend rings and they’re crying in the background.

“Worse still, you can get ready for a night out, only to be moments later covered in baby puke. These are mine - and other mums realities.
“The biggest let-down is when you friends don’t understand; instead of accommodating your new life, they leave you out because babies are inconvenient - or they assume you’ll not be able to go. It’s so upsetting and makes you wonder who your real friends are, time always tells I’ve learned.
“So this is a shout out to all the mums out there who feel. Isolated and alone, and are missing out on what there friends are enjoying. I’m with you in solidarity. But despite the lows, there are many highs and I wouldn’t change being a mum for anything. I love you Freddie George. You are my world(sic).”
