TONIGHT’S episode of The One Show is set to be an elite one with two CBE appointed actors and two geniuses from Cambridge.

Who’s on The One Show tonight?

Jonathan Pryce

Jonathan Pryce is a 71-year-old actor and singer from Flintshire, Wales.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

From Evita and Pirates of the Caribbean to The New World and GI Joe, the legendary actor has done it all.

More recently, Jonathan played the High Sparrow in Game of Thrones.

Jonathan was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2009.

Dame Eileen Atkins

The English actress is 84-years-old, having been born on June 16, 1934.

Her career has spanned across television, theatre, and film since 1953.

The London native is best known for her parts in Robin Hood (2010), Cold Mountain (2003), Paddington 2 (2018) and Carnage (2017).

Recently, she conquered hearts as The Crown‘s Queen Mary, acting alongside Claire Foy and Matt Smith.

Eileen was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1990 and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2001.

Eric Monkman rose to fame following his appearance on University Challenge

Eric Monkman was a student at Cambridge University – he graduated with a Masters in Economics.

The 29-year-old made a name for himself when he appeared on University Challenge.

His intense facial expressions and high level of enthusiasm led to widespread adoration.

Eric is the son of two doctors and said that he felt like the “odd one” in his family due to being squeamish about blood.

Now, he is set to appear on screens alongside Bobby Seagull again in Genius Guide to Britain as they road-trip around the country.

Bobby Seagull is a maths teacher, Ph.D. student, University Challenge contestant and radio and TV host.

The 33-year-old boffin is from Newham in England.

He currently studies and teaches in Cambridge – where he is educating the next generation in maths.

His book, The Life Changing Magic of Numbers is out in October 2018.

Seagull tweeted: “Maths has always been a part of my life and I try to find it everywhere from the kitchen, to the gym & even to my search for love.”

His brand new BBC Two show will see him and his University Challenge friend Eric Monkman travel across the UK

What time is The One Show on and who is presenting?

You can tune in to BBC One at 7pm on weeknights to watch the show.

Today’s episode will last half an hour and is being hosted by Matt Baker and Angellica Bell.

Each night the presenters mix interviews with an array of celebrity guests with an eclectic mix of topics ranging from current affairs to pop culture.

It is then available on demand.

Can I be in The One Show audience?

Unfortunately, the One Show is not listed among the BBC shows you can apply for tickets for.

So viewers will just have to get their fix from their sofas.

However, to be in with a chance of watching programmes from A Question of Sport to Just a Minute being made visit  .

on the BBC iPlayer.

 

How long has The One Show been running?

The magazine-style show has been running for over a decade. The first episode was aired on August 14 2006.

From 2007 to 2010 it was hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, before Alex Jones and Jason Manford took the helm, later being replaced by Matt Baker.

Chris Evans oversaw the Friday night hour-long episodes from 2010 to 2015.

The likes of Dermot O’Leary, Phil Tufnell, Zoe Ball and Fearne Cotton are among the guest presenters who have stood in for the regular duos.
