THANDIE Newton had Emmy viewers howling with laughter after swearing while collecting her best acting award tonight.

The Westworld actress accepted the gong for best supporting actress in a drama for her role as super-smart Maeve in the HBO drama but couldn't help but swear.

"I didn't even believe in God, but I'm going to thank her tonight," she said as she began her speech.

The actress added: "I am so blessed, I am so blessed even without this I am so f***ing blessed."

Viewers loved her gaffe and took to social media to gush about Thandie's swearing.

One tweeted: "Thandie swearing for winning gives me life! #Emmys"
