Strictly Come Dancing’s first live show wowed fans

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s latest stars were cha-cha-champing at the bit to impress during the first live show of the series – and they didn’t disappoint.

If you weren’t watching last night, we’ve compiled the best moments from the first episode that you have to know about.

First up is the funny moment fans were convinced Oasis star Liam Gallagher was a Strictly Come Dancing superfan.

He appeared to cheer on professional dancer AJ Pritchard, wishing him luck ahead of the first live show.

But it turned out he was actually tweeting his support for heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua.

Secondly, there was a huge row following Stacey Dooley’s incredible Quickstep.

The documentary maker thrilled fans with her difficult routine but many claimed she was under-marked after receiving just 24 points from the judges.

Viewers complained online about the treatment of the dancer and insisted she should have scored higher.

Next is Joe Sugg’s secret hand gesture – with left some viewers open mouthed.

Joe started making the signal with his hand and eagle eyed viewers realised he wanted to play the circle game with the millions of people watching at home.

Fans went wild when they spotted what he was doing as he talked to Claudia Winkleman with his co-stars.

Shirley Ballas was also put in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, with viewers unhappy about how she treated Seann Walsh.

After he performed with his professional partner Katya Jones, Shirley took a pop at his hair and told him he needed to “tidy himself up”.

Seann made a joke about her comments but viewers were less forgiving and blasted the veteran dancer as “rude”.

And the head judge wasn’t the only person to get everyone talking on the night.

Kate Silverton shared a kiss with her hunky dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec at the end of her sexy Cha Cha in the fifth moment you may have missed.

Viewers went wild as Kate took to the dancefloor and joked her husband had approved of the smooch.

Pro Aljaz later quipped: “Kate’s husband is in the marine’s so that will be interesting later.”

Also during tonight’s show This Morning star Dr Ranj Singh made an incredible confession.

The medic is still working during his time on the BBC dancing show and during the episode revealed he’d delivered a baby in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He told Claudia: “Not only have I done night shifts at St Georges, I’ve also been rehearsing with this lovely lady and yesterday at 3.03am we welcomed the lovely Olivia into the world.

“It’s been a tiring week.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday and Sunday on BBC One.
