EASTENDERS fans got excited as Sonia Fowler's trumpet returned and Jamie Mitchell was mentioned.
Fans flocked to Twitter to get nostalgic over the blasts from the past.
Despite Sonia's iconic trumpet only making a fleeting visit to the hit soap, fans were quick to hail the return on social media.
One even went so far as to call it "the greatest comeback in showbiz history."
Some deemed it 'iconic' while others lamented over "the good old days."
One enthusiastic viewer went so far as to say it was: "Quite possibly the best reunion of 2018."
While others didn't quite share the excitement.
One unenthusiastic fan begged: "Please don't inflict Sonia's trumpet on us again!"
Meanwhile, in another blast from the past fans got equally animated after seeing Jamie Mitchell's face again.
Sonia's ex-beau made a reappearance on screen when the character took a walk down memory lane and showed her daughter Bex a box of mementos.
The much-loved character took out a photograph of the young lovebirds, to which Bex noted:
"He was well fit!"
Sonia and Jamie were loved up until his untimely death on Christmas Day which left poor Sonia devastated.
After the picture of him aired, one fan reminisced about how he was "well fit."
While another wrote: "Big up Jamie Mitchell."
But besides the trip down memory lane, fans were left sickened after Mick Carter was branded a paedophile in prison by Stuart Highway's criminal pals.
The Queen Vic landlord - who is played by actor Danny Dyer in the BBC soap - was beaten up by one of Stuart's criminal friends in the harrowing episode after he was jailed on the suspicion of trying to kill his old friend.
But while Mick has been struggling to prove his innocence, predator hunter Stuart reached out to the top dog in the prison, Fraser, and told him that Mick was in fact one of the paedophiles he caught.
Fans were horrified as the episode ended with the other inmates screaming at Mick that he was a child abuser.
They took to social media to express their thoughts on what had happened.
One wrote: "Can't believe how low Stuart would sink. How can he lie about Mick being a nonce in that environment?!"
A second added: "Am actually scared for mick Carter, like prisoners thinking he’s a nonce when he ain’t.. this wont end well #EastEnders"
A third said: "If Stuart really cared about how sexual abuse affects people he wouldn’t minimise it by lying about Mick being a paedophile."
