Kim Kardashian former bodyguard sued for £5.5m for ‘not protecting her’ during Paris gunpoint robbery
The reality queen's insurance company has filed a lawsuit against Pascal Duvier following the 2016 robbery
KIM Kardashian's former bodyguard is being sued for millions of dollars after claims he "failed to protect her" when she was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room.
The star's insurance company, AIG, has filed a lawsuit against Pascal Duvier and the company that he works for, Protect Security.
It is suing for £5.5 million ($6.1 million) - the same amount that they paid out to Kim for the jewellery that was taken during the robbery on 3 October, 2016.
In the lawsuit, AIG state that Duvier was not there to protect Kim when five masked gunmen broke into her hotel room.
The reality star was in France for Paris Fashion Week at the time - with Duvier leaving her alone so that he could accompany her sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, to a nightclub.
report that AIG claim Duvier also failed to report multiple security breaches at the hotel - including a courtyard gate that was missing a lock and a broken intercom to the door.
The company has said in the lawsuit that it was those security breaches that allowed the gunmen to gain access to Kim's room.
Neither the hotel or the concierge, who was held at gunpoint and forced to unlock Kim's hotel door, have been named in the suit.
Kim was left traumatised by the heist - which saw the mother-of-three have a gun held against her head as she was tied up and dumped in a bathtub.
It is estimated that the thieves took around £7.7 million worth of cash and jewellery - including a £3.5 million ring.
The gunmen were eventually arrested with leader Aomar Ait Khedache, 60, telling authorities that he'd used Kim's social media presence to determine when she would be arriving in Paris - and the jewellery that she would have with her.
He also alleged that somebody "very close" to the star had given him information.
One month after the robbery Kim and her husband Kanye West decided to fire Duvier and other members of their security team.

The couple were left fearing for the safety of their two children at the time, North and Saint, and overhauled their entire security detail.
A source said that the decision was "tough" because they "love" Duvier - but they didn't want to take any chances.
Duvier had worked for the Kardashian family for four years and has also worked for Justin Timberlake, Ciara, and Fergie in the past.
