Emmerdale fans in tears as Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden finally get hitched

FANS rejoiced as Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden finally got hitched.

Enthusiastic Twitter users even got a #robron hashtag trending on the social network.

Things have been less than plain sailing for the lovebirds but now the couple have finally got hitched without a hitch.

And fans couldn't be more excited.

Taking to Twitter to air their feelings - one wrote: "Ahhhhh I can't deal."

While another declared they were "sobbing already" and "an emotional mess" because of the scenes.

One viewer tweeted that their "heart is bursting" while another declared they were so moved by the ceremony that they "nearly cried."

The pair got married in an outdoors ceremony at a pagoda outside the village hall and Chas even walked her son Aaron down the aisle despite her recent heartbreak.

Back in April 2017, Emmerdale bosses said there would be a second Robron wedding in the future.

Since then, the couple has been through a particularly complicated time, as Aaron had a stint in prison and Robert ended up getting his former flame Rebecca White pregnant while his husband was locked up.

But in February 2018, fans were once again given hope that reconciliation could be on the cards.

The pair almost shared a kiss when Robert went over to Aaron’s to help him cook a Valentine’s Day meal for Aaron’s boyfriend Alex.

Aaron had asked Alex to move in with him, but after a bit of intervention from his sister, he realised his true feelings for his ex.

Aaron dumped his boyfriend Alex– making way for a potential reunion.

The pair since reconciled and decided to get married again- much to the delight of fans!

On February 21, 2018, Danny Miller confirmed that a second wedding would be happening in the very near future, during an appearance on This Morning.

During the first planned wedding that aired on Friday 17 February 2017, Robert had the idea of a surprise wedding for him and Aaron, who was about to start a prison sentence for assaulting Kasim Sabet.

Robert told his future mother-in-law Chas: “I want to make us a proper family; we get married tomorrow before he goes to prison.”

So he set up a surprise ceremony in the Woolpack pub – but in true soap opera style, things didn't quite go to plan as the police stormed the pub to arrest Faith Dingle for MURDER.
