IT'S already episode seven of The Great British Bake Off 2018!

This week was Vegan Week and some bakers rose to the challenges - while others had a dip in form. So whose creation was deemed not quite delicious enough and who claimed the coveted Star Baker title?

What happened during Vegan Week?

Six bakers took on the task of making vegan delights for the judges.

But who impressed Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the first ever Vegan Week?

Here were the winners and losers of each challenge:

• Signature Bake - vegan tarts. Rahul's blew the judges away, while Ruby's left them feeling deflated. Kim-Joy received a (reluctant) Hollywood handshake.
• Technical Challenge - A pavlova, but rather than using egg white for the meringue, bakers were tasked with using aquafaba. Sixth and last was Kim-Joy, whose piping was described as "boring" by Paul. Briony was fifth, Jon fourth and Ruby third. Manon picked up second spot and Rahul triumphed with his pavolva which "had everything," according to Prue. He was chuffed because it was his first technical win.
• Showstopper Challenge - a celebration cake made from plant-based ingredients. Ruby had a cake disaster when her tiered creation collapsed as the bakers exited the tent, but luckily the flavour saved it. Rahul's creation also collapsed, and the judges didn't like his flavour, either. Kim-Joy's fox creation was a triumph.

Who left the tent in episode seven of GBBO 2018?

Jon left despite Prue praising his flavours in the early part of the show.

However, he said he was thrilled to have made it to week seven of the competition.

Who was the seventh Star Baker?

Kim-Joy's attention to detail impressed the judges and she claimed the coveted title thanks to her sweet fox-themed cake.

Before entering the tent, Kim-Joy said her mixed-heritage background is reflected in her open attitude to all styles of baking.

Her baking passion is bread and she has even turned her hand to every style and type of bread there is.

When is The Great British Bake Off on?

The Great British Bake Off 2018 started on Tuesday, August 28, at 8pm on Channel 4, and it's shown in the same time slot each Tuesday.
