Megan McKenna reveals ‘make-or-break’ holiday with Mike Thalassitis didn’t work out and admits ‘she’s single again and it’s all over’
Megan tells The Sun Online her holiday with Mike didn't work out and she's now moving on with her life.
MEGAN McKenna admits since coming back from the make-or-break holiday with Mike Thalassitis “it just didn’t work out, we’re not together and I'm just trying to move on with my life”.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online Megan, 26, said she was moving on from the Love Island hunk and is focusing on her music.
Megan and Mike split in August but gave their romance a second chance last week.
However it wasn't to be, with Megan explaining: “Mike and I haven’t been together for a few months.
“I was out in Ibiza at the season’s closing parties and I did see him out there. We decided to go to Dubai together, just to see if we could make it work again.
“We went there because it was out of the public eye and it could be the two of us. But it hasn’t worked. Sometimes it just can’t happen. I’m just trying to move on with my life now.”
Megan’s incredible career, which started when she burst into the limelight back in 2015 on Ex On The Beach, has seen her become one of the UK’s best known stars.
In the early days, she became famed for her fiery nature and no-nonsense outbursts that led to an incredibly successful stint on hit ITVBE show Towie.
Now she’s following her childhood dream of becoming a professional singer. And while the transition, from mouthy reality queen to country music star, can’t have been easy, Megan has made it look seamless.
She explains: “I plastered myself across screens. People have seen me have meltdowns, they’ve watched me screaming at people and crying because of bad break ups.
“I don’t regret anything and those experiences have helped me to get where I am today.
“I’ve grown up a lot now and I know how to control my anger. I think my fans can see how I’ve evolved and they’ve come along with me for the ride.”
Music is Megan’s sole direction now and while she’s tight-lipped on future plans, she’s already had phenomenal success.
The Essex born star bagged the number one spot on iTunes with her debut track High Heeled Shoes, and in summer supported Michael Buble at British Summertime in Hyde Park.
Beaming, Megan says that day was everything she’d dreamed of.
She says: “I felt so emotional, walking out onto Hyde Park on that stage. It was like a catwalk with a huge stage at the end.
“I thought ‘Sod it! I’m strutting down that stage more than once. I’m going to own this’. And I did it.
“Being on TV I get mixed reviews all the time but for the first time ever it was all positive after I did that gig.
“When I walked back up the catwalk I saw my name in big letters and I was so shocked. My management had kept that as a surprise for me.
“I was walking back up and singing and I saw my name and I wanted to shout, ‘Oh my god, that’s my name!’”
Megan dreamed of being a singer with her name in lights since childhood and says she finally feels she’s achieving what she has always dreamed of.

She explains: “I used to sit in art class at school and draw the stage I wanted to perform on. And now it’s happening.
“The TV shows I have done I will never regret them. They gave me the platform I am on today and I am so grateful for everything I have done.
“I feel that the people that have known me from the beginning on TV. The people who’ve seen the highs and the lows. If they still like me after all of that, I think my music could really have a chance.
“This is all I’ve dreamed of my whole life. And I will never give up.”
