SIMON Cowell has pledged £50,000 to put towards life-saving cancer treatment in the United States for a boy from Shropshire.

The music mogul, 59, donated the huge sum to four-year-old Zac Oliver who is suffering from a rare form of leukaemia called Near Haploid.

His family have so far raised £350,000 out of the required £500,000 for crucial treatment called CAR-T therapy in America, which is currently unavailable on the NHS - and now The X Factor judge has stepped in to help.

Encouraging fans to donate too, the father-of-one said in a video he shared: “This boy is four years old and needs money to get him to America to get the help he needs.

"So I want you please to go on Zac Oliver’s JustGiving page and whatever you can donate will make a difference.

"And because I don’t like well-known people telling people to do something and don’t do anything themselves, I’m going to donate £50,000.

"We’re going to get there.”

Zac's family have organised Zacfest, a fundraiser being held in Telford Town Park today.

The little boy's mum Hannah Oliver-Willets said: “Thank you, Simon Cowell.

"I explained to Zac that Simon has helped to pay for his special medicine.

It comes as it was exclusively revealed by The Sun that Simon is so devoted to his three Yorkshire Terriers that he refuses to put them on a commercial flight.

Instead, dogs Squiddly, Diddly and Freddy enjoy “furs class” services on board a state-of-the-art Learjet.

They get their own fully reclining white leather seats, while lapping up Icelandic mineral water from porcelain dog bowls and foraging for organic, sugar-free choc drops.

As Simon, who is father to four-year-old son Eric, knocks back his favourite Japanese beer, his beloved pets tuck into bespoke jumbones and play with a selection of squeaky toys.

The star travels between his London and Los Angeles homes with the pups, as well as an annual Caribbean jaunt.
