Tamara Ecclestone reveals daughter Sofia, 4, has stopped breastfeeding as she starts school
The heiress explained that her only child simply ' lost interest' and felt it was the right time to end the habit
TAMARA Ecclestone has revealed that her daughter Sofia has finally stopped breastfeeding as she starts school.
The heiress explained that she felt it was the right time for her only child to end the habit after years of courting controversy on the subject.
Speaking to , Tamara, 34, explained that her wilful daughter Sofia - or Fifi as she's affectionately known, always "does things on her own timetable, when it's right for her".
She said: "It just stopped over summer, she was just done. I never wanted it to be a big song and dance like, 'Today we're going to stop.'
"I felt like it was getting less and less and I knew it was going to be done soon."
The Tamara's World star has received a lot of stick for breastfeeding Fifi for so long, and last month revealed she was "almost done" with it.
However, she insists it's "kind of crazy that it causes so much of a stir".
She added: "There have been so many people that have written to me and said to me, 'You made us feel like it's OK to carry on and you really helped, thank you for normalising it'.
"I left the school crying it was so bad, I was so ashamed.
"It was really bad, I drove away and then I called them and they were like, "No, she's absolutely fine"
"So all I take away from my experience is the positive."
"The haters - whatever - they're always going to be haters."
Elsewhere in the chat with the mums' website, Tamara revealed how she adjusted to being separated from Sofia when she started school.
She said: "The first few days went really, really well. She was really happy, but then yesterday and today she was crying so much.

"But it's the guilt when they're crying...
"I was really trying to disguise the fact I had tears in my eyes. There were so many."
Just last month Tamara had predicted that Sofia was "almost done" with being breastfed.
Tamara told : “I definitely think it’s something that (Sophia’s) almost done.
“And I’m fine about that. It’s happened so gradually and I’ve been expecting it.”
