THE quarter finals of The Great British Bake Off 2018 are under way and fans are already screaming fix.
This week was Danish Week and saw one of the best bakers sent home - while others who had a dip in form were allowed to stay. So whose creation was deemed not quite delicious enough and who claimed the coveted Star Baker title?
What happened during Danish Week?
Five bakers took on the task of making Danish delights for the judges - wearing Hawaiian-themed shirts in honour of last week's evictee Jon.
But who impressed Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the week inspired by Sandi Toksvig's heritage?
Here were the winners and losers of each challenge:
- Signature Bake - Smorrebrod. This open rye bread sandwich was nailed by Ruby and Manon. Rahul struggled with a "soggy bottom". And Briony was left in tears over her disaster.
- Technical Challenge - Æbleskiver. These were small little dough balls filled with apple and cinnamon which is then dipped in strawberry jam. Rahul's were left in the oven a little too long and were definitely burnt. He came bottom, while Briony triumphed. Manon was fourth, Ruby third and Kim-Joy got second place.
- Showstopper Challenge - Kagemand. This is a Danish pastry shaped like a person and Paul claimed that Rahul's had been baked for too long - again. This was Manon's only dish that the judges were not too keen on.
Who left the tent in episode eight of GBBO 2018?
Manon left despite passing both the Signature and Technical Challenges while Rahul failed all three.
Despite this, he was saved from the chop and a very tearful Manon was given her marching orders.
Fans immediately showed their support for the French baker and called the show "a fix" and threatened to boycott the show.
One said: "That’s me not watching the #BakeOff again as it’s a fix. Shocking decision that."
Who was the eighth Star Baker?
Ruby Bhogal's attention to detail impressed the judges and she claimed the coveted title thanks to her sweet treat.
Before entering the tent, Ruby said her background nurtured a laid-back style of baking and that's clearly helped her out this week.
She may have flapped during the Technical Challenge but overall, Ruby had nothing to worry about.
