LOVE Island’s Sam Bird and Georgia Steel split just hours after they were pictured partying with their pals at ITV's boozy gala bash.
Sam was the one to break the news and admitted he was too upset to reveal the real reason behind their shock break up.
Georgia, 20, and Sam, 25, were inseparable after meeting in the villa and looked loved up when they partied with their pals at London's Festival Hall last night.
But, in a statement posted on Twitter on Wednesday evening, Sam said: “I’m devastated to announce me and Georgia have split up for reasons I cant bring myself to comment on at the moment.
“As always I wish her all the best.”
His stunned fans inundated him with supportive messages.
One told Sam: “So sorry to hear this i really thought you was going to last for a long time.”
While another commented: “Really sad to hear this. Maybe you can work it out. U are both a lovely couple and made of stronger stuff than to break up.”
Georgia later confirmed the news and told her Instagram followers: “I'm very sad to say me and Sam have split.
“I will always care about him. However please understand this is a hard time for us both. Thank you.”
The Sun Online has contacted their representatives for comment.
When Sam and Georgia left the ITV bash last night, it seemed there could have been tension between the pair.
Georgia walked out of the party in front of Sam and he looked miserable as he trailed behind her.
It was a marked difference to the pictures of them arriving, as they grinned as they posed for pictures on the hot pink carpet,
Earlier on Wednesday, Georgia shared a video of herself getting a beauty treatment and didn't give fans any clues there was trouble in paradise with Sam.
After leaving Love Island the smitten pair quickly moved in together – shacking up in a luxury flat in Essex.
The pair told pals they knew their relationship was progressing quickly but admitted they didn't want to spend a moment apart after falling in love in the villa.
A source close to Georgia said: “It became clear as soon as they left the villa as a couple that it wouldn’t be long until they got a place together.
“They have decided to move somewhere completely new that neither one of them has lived before so it feels like a completely fresh chapter.”
Georgia and Sam are the fifth couple to end their romance after Love Island ended in July.
Other couples to split since leaving the villa are Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, Laura Crane and Jack Fowler, Charlie Brake and Elle Brown, and Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster.
But winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham seem more loved up than ever.
