X Factor winner James Arthur lands role in the world’s biggest soap opera — in Brazil
X FACTOR champ James Arthur has landed a role in the world’s biggest soap opera — in Brazil.
The 2012 winner, 30, secretly flew there this month to film a cameo for O Tempo não Para, which has up to 40million viewers.
His track Naked proved a hit when it featured in a romantic scene earlier this year in the soap, whose title means Time Doesn’t Stop.
A music insider said: “Producers were so bowled over by the reaction which James’ song got that they were desperate to get him on screen.
“He flew to Sao Paulo a fortnight ago to shoot the scenes which saw him playing himself, singing Naked in a club which the main characters visit.”
James, who has had two UK No 1 singles including 2016’s Say You Won’t Let Go, revealed his acting ambitions two years ago.
The singer, who last week released new single Empty Space, told The Sun: “I want to become a Hollywood film star.
“I have been through and seen so many dramas and traumas and been in so many situations that I can probably interpret a few different characters.”
