CARLA Connor and Pete Barlow find themselves in a massive showdown.
It all kicks off on the cobbles this week as the factory owner discovers her business partner is trying to sell half the business.
Carla is left in shock when her PA Sarah reveals that Peter's been doing the dirty behind her back.
She immediately confronts him before he gets a chance to stab her in the back and sell half of her beloved factory.
A source told : "Going into business together was always going to be a disaster..
"Peter is not suited to this work and he only did it to get close to Carla."
They added: " She's failed to fail into his arms so he's feeling bored and redundant and now he wants out."
But the source suggested that Carla's not entirely blameless in the situation as she "hasn't done anything to make things better
"She's constantly pushing him to the sidelines."
And it gets even more complicated as Peter is completely oblivious to the fact that Carla has sneakily been trying to raise money to buy him out.
The brunette beauty had been relying on a bank loan to enable her to raise funds.
Feeling defensive she confronts her nemesis Nigel - making it plain that he'll never get his paws on the factory.

And Pete doesn't escape her wrath - she scorns her sly business partner and former hubbie and demands an explanation for his behaviour.
The source gave light on the matter, revealing that Pete doesn't want to get pushed around by Carla any longer:
"He's in love with her, and if they could work together as equals, there could be a chance for them.
"Yet Peter doesn't believe Carla is capable of that and he's starting to realise that Carla will never give in to her feelings for him."
After the reality shock Carla is galvanised to confront her true feelings for her ex-hubbie and win back his trust both with Underworld and her.
