THE murder rate in Corrie’s Weatherfield is worse than the most violent city in the world, research found.
Some 181 characters have died — making it Britain’s deadliest soap.
Thirty-two were murdered, 38 had heart attacks, 18 perished in accidents and eight suffered bizarre deaths.
Most of the others died of illnesses or natural causes.
This year evil Pat Phelan had a role in the deaths of Michael Rodwell and Vinny Ashford before killing Andy Carver and Luke Britton.
He was then fatally stabbed himself by Anna Windass.
This month, Ali Neeson killed Ronan Truman by pulling a wooden stake from his body which was keeping him alive after a car crash.
A spokesman for , who compiled the data, said: “Los Cabos (Mexico) has the highest murder rate, yet looking at murders per 1,000 people, you are four times more likely to be assassinated in Weatherfield.
“We also found that compared with other top British soaps, Weatherfield is where you’re most likely to meet a grizzly end as a result of an unfortunate accident.”
EastEnders has had 28 murders and Emmerdale, 27.

Los Cabos which has a population of around 287,000 is plagued by deadly drug cartels. Its murder rate is 111.33 per 100,000 inhabitants.
