Strictly Come Dancing viewers mock Darcey Bussell after she makes blunder during live show
The incident came as Darcey critiqued Charles Venn's Jive during the Halloween special
STRICTLY Come Dancing viewers mocked Darcey Bussell last night after she made a big blunder live on air.
The Dame was critiquing Charles Venn's Jive with his partner Karen Clifton when she mixed up her words.
She said: "You started so well, the attack, the intent, full energy, it was a fast and frantic Jive.
"There was a moment where you really had timing issues. I saw two Pacific, very Pacific, sadly."
Viewers quickly realised the 49-year-old wasn't talking about her next holiday, but had in fact meant 'specific'.
Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn't believe she had got the two words mixed up.
One wrote: "Did Darcey mean specific? Pacific!" while another added: "Did Darcey just say 'pacific'?!"
A third also noticed the slip up, writing: "I'd be booing as well, but only because I've just discovered that Dame Darcey Bussell says 'pacific' instead of 'specific' #Strictly".
The ribbing continued, as another viewer tweeted: "Darcey Bussell on #Strictly just criticised a dancer's timing issues citing 'pacific' instances. Twice."
One fan of the show even rewound the footage to check they hadn't misheard, before tweeting: "I thought she did but I wasn't sure. So I had to rewind and check. Darcey definitely said pacific instead of specific. Twice."
Another tweeted: "Omg! Surely Darcey didn't just say specific! That's an ocean dahling! The word is specific ffs!"
Charles and Karen ended up scoring 25 points for their routine placing them in the lower half of the leaderboard.
However three couples found themselves at the bottom with 20 points, while Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts topped the leaderboard with 39 points each.
