When is the John Lewis Christmas advert 2018 release date?
We still do not know when exactly the John Lewis Christmas advert will be released.
However, it could be released any day now based on when previous years' adverts were released.
In 2017 and 2016, John Lewis unveiled the highly anticipated campaigns on November 10, so it might be then!
Although it appears that they are releasing it a lot closer to Christmas this year.
A reported teaser was leaked on social media last week, however, Radio X DJ Chris Moyles claimed this was a prank and that he made the video.
The budget for it has been reported as £10million, £3million more than last year's.
Is Elton John recording the song?
As usual, John Lewis had been working very hard to keep everything under wraps.
However, according to reports and the rumoured teaser, this year's artist is the legendary Elton John.
claimed that the performer will be paid £5million for his one-off appearance which will see him playing the piano at the climax of the advert and his 1970 hit Your Song as the soundtrack.
They also explained that Sir Elton spent four days at the Pinewood studios in Buckinghamshire shooting.

What was John Lewis' Christmas advert last year?
Last year's John Lewis ad told the story of a little boy who befriended the monster under his bed.
The featured song was a cover of The Beatles' Golden Slumbers by the rock band Elbow.
The budget for the campaign was £7 million which was directed by the Oscar-winning director Michel Gondry.
It premiered in the advertising break's in Friday night's Gogglebox on Channel 4.
