Coronation Street’s Nicola Thorp is set to make sensational return after six month break
The actress left the soap after narrowly avoiding falling victim to her murderous dad Pat Phelan
NICOLA Thorp will make a stunning return to Coronation Street after leaving the soap six months ago.
The actress, 29, who played Pat Phelan's daughter Nicola Rubenstein in the soap, has gone down well with the cast and crew.
A source told the : "Everyone is thrilled Nicola is coming back. She was always really popular on set and has so many friends in the cast.
"Producers think it is the perfect time to bring her character back.
"Nicola jumped at the chance to do more. She loved her first year on Corrie and wants to stay part of the family."
The star's big return will come in January after her baby daddy Gary Windass visits her in Bristol after their baby son Zach gets ill.
Nicola has kept an interested eye on the cobbles during her time away, telling The Sun how she relished boyfriend Charlie de Melo's hilarious 'threesome' scenes with Leanne and Toyah Battersby.

She loved watching Charlie, who plays lothario Imran Habeeb, get into hot water with the cunning sisters after they discovered he was secretly dating each of them behind the other's back.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Nicola said: "Let's just say I get very, very jealous of Charlie because Georgia (Taylor, Toyah) and Jane (Danson, Leanne) and are absolutely gorgeous. He's a lucky man.
"I'm loving watching the storyline. I find it really funny, and I'm just super proud of him. I'm proud of the whole team and I'm really, really enjoying watching that classic Corrie comedy of errors."
Nicola left the soap earlier this year having played Nicola Rubinstein in the dark Pat Phelan saga.
"I was always involved in quite serious storylines so I'm really enjoying the quite light-hearted stuff that's happening at the moment," she said.
