Strictly’s Amy Dowden planning to invite Danny John Jules to her wedding despite bullying row
AMY Dowden is planning to invite Danny John Jules to her wedding despite their bullying row.
The Strictly siren spilt the beans on her upcoming nuptials to her dancer fiancé Ben Jones.
Amy, 27, seemed to hit out at recent reports of tension between her and celebrity partner Danny, telling :
"‘Danny has thrown himself into Strictly, so we do as many hours as we can fit in.
"I’m the boss, but we get along really well."
And her beau Ben piped in, insisting: "I get along with Danny really well, too. His daughter Danaè loves Amy."
Amy let slip how she envisages her Big Day to be, she said:
"We would like it to be next summer and all of the Strictly family will be there. I’ll invite the judges.
"I want to get married in a castle and the day to be quite princessy.
She added: "I can’t wait to start planning it now."
The Welsh dancer's decision to include Danny on the guestlist might surprise some after recent reports of friction between the pair.
The Sun exclusively revealed that the Red Dwarf actor, 58, had been given a final warning by show bosses for "bullying" Amy.
Sources said the Red Dwarf actor, 58, had left the professional in tears during training — at one point angrily telling her: “I’m the star, not you.”
This week Amy stormed out and told BBC bosses she’d had enough.
A source said: “Danny swears and shouts at Amy a lot. She’s in bits.” After fleeing to a cafe, she rang producers to say she didn't know if she could continue.
It came after sources said the 58-year-old celebrity left her in tears by swearing and shouting at her during training sessions.
Strictly bosses told Danny — best known for sitcom Red Dwarf and crime drama Death In Paradise — they would not tolerate any more bad behaviour following a series of meetings yesterday.
A source said: “Amy’s been crying constantly at the hands of Danny. He gets very angry in the training room and he swears and shouts at her a lot.
“He also makes a lot of snide comments about him being famous and her not.
“Things have been bubbling away for a while and it all came to a head on Wednesday.”
The insider added: “Amy is so patient and sweet. It’s her dream being on the show. Quite frankly, everyone on Strictly wants Danny to go.”
And Strictly fans rejoiced as he was booted off the show tonight after failing to wow the judges in the dance off.
Tonight he was pitted against show favourite Graeme Swann during the dance off.
After they danced, Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Danny and Amy but the remaining judges, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas said they wanted Graeme and his partner Oti Mabuse to stay.
Speaking to Tess Daly, Danny said: “It’s been a great experience and I’m just so unhappy I didn’t get Amy to where she needed to be.
“And I just think that as I said before, everything I have done on this show is because of Amy. It was her training, her choreography that got me here.
“I can only look as good as her dancing and you know, she is great, and I hope that her career goes up and onwards as she deserves.”
