Helena Bonham Carter has set up a ‘psychic hotline’ to speak to Princess Margaret as she prepares to play her in The Crown
HELENA Bonham Carter has set up a “psychic hotline” to the late Princess Margaret as she plays The Queen’s late sister in TV’s The Crown.
After consulting a clairvoyant before taking on the role, she now has a supernatural expert on set to conduct seances in her dressing room as she films the royal drama.
Sources say the late princess has told her that the last actress to play her in the Netflix show, Vanessa Kirby, didn’t inject the role with enough class or humour — and warned Helena, 52, to add more.
A TV insider said: “Although many of us might feel like laughing at what Helena is doing, it’s actually a reflection of how seriously she’s taking the part.
“As someone who has a very strong spiritual side, she firmly believes that she is getting tips directly from Princess Margaret.
“And she’s convinced the best way of perfecting the role is by constantly consulting the royal, through the psychic, as filming of the series advances.”
Helena, who starred in the Harry Potter movies and played Princess Margaret’s mother in hit film, The King’s Speech, will appear in the third series of The Crown next year.
She’ll star opposite Olivia Colman, 44, as The Queen and Tobias Menzies, 44, as husband, Prince Philip.
After Helena’s casting was announced in May and filming began, she used a psychic to speak to her royal highness - and initially she told her she was “doing a great job.”
It’s not the first time she’s asked for the help of a mystic figure.
