THE I'm a Celebrity campmates are left stunned when Noel Edmonds makes his grand entrance into the jungle as camp leader in tonight's show.
The former Noel's House Party presenter, 69, will receive a very royal welcome as he makes his first appearance dressed as a Roman emperor.
Before being introduced to their new camp leader, hosts Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby tease: "You are now gladiators and your fate will be decided by a new camp leader. All hail the emperor..."
Noel then emerges from behind regal red curtains to the sound of trumpets as the celebrities gasp in shock at their famous new leader.
But while the likes of Emily Atack and Sair Khan giggle like schoolgirls, Harry Redknapp's blank facial expressions suggests the 71-year-old doesn't have a clue who Noel is.
EastEnders star Rita Simons is then seen whispering "it's Noel Edmonds" to the legendary football manager.
Making a joke about the torrential Australian downpours, Noel then quips: "Hail - literally... and rain."
The comment goes down a treat with the celebrities who burst into laughter as they stand in the rain.
A promo clip for Noel's arrival that aired last night showed the TV host sit on a red velvet throne wearing a regal white toga, purple sash and a leather armour skirt.
The camera zoomed in as a golden laurel-leaf crown was placed on his head by one of his guards. Noel then roared: “Are you not entertained?”
The line is a nod to Russell Crowe’s 2000 blockbuster Gladiator.
The clip was a teaser for fans ahead of Noel’s much-hyped appearance on tonight’s show. Thrilled co-host Declan Donnelly said he was so excited that it felt like Christmas Eve.
With the survival show well underway, John Barrowman triumphed in his first Bushtucker Trial last night, bagging all ten stars in a scary underwater challenge.
The Doctor Who actor, 51, braved critters including 40 large eels, 20 crocodiles and five water pythons.
