LOVE ISLAND's Jack Fowler has told how he cried for four days "in a dark room" over a break-up that left him depressed.
The 22-year-old star revealed his lowest moment in an interview with as he urged young people to speak to older friends and family about their mental health.
Recalling his episode of depression, he said: "I was in a dark room. Balling my eyes out. My step-mum comes down stairs she said 'you'll be alright, don't try to fight it.'
"She came back at 6 o'clock in the evening and I still hadn't moved. I was in the same spot. The only difference was there were loads of tissues around me.
"I was balling balling balling. It took about four or five days of crap. It was absolute 's**t'. I was depressed if I think about it. I wasn't actually eating. Going to the shop was an absolute task. But my dad made me to get fresh air.
"It was at that point that I saw a tin of soup and I was trying to get it together. Then I just balled again and he was like 'What's up?' and I said 'The last time I was in this shop I bought that soup.'
"We laugh about it now but at the time it wasn't funny. At the time I was just a mess."
He went on: "Go and talk to your mum, your older friends. Ask them if they have been heartbroken I guarantee they would say yes. It's a massive part of life."
Jack admitted he found his newfound fame difficult after he emerged from the Love Island villa.
But he has learned to show emotion, like the heartbreak he felt after breaking up with a girlfriend, and said he is happy he can share his experiences online and ease people of their worries.
Jack, who has 1.1million followers on Instagram, said: "(At first) I didn't speak about (the break-up) but being on the other side now it's so foreign not to. Get that cross over and explain how you feel.
"I'm an influencer and people want to wear what I buy or hear how I feel. A few weeks ago I shared a photo of when I was in resus (resuscitated) after I had a reaction.
"And I has so many messages from people thanking me for talking about allergies."
