Gary Barlow is quitting music so he can ‘live a bit’ – but he’ll be back in a year after ticking things off his bucket list
The star will be going on tour across the UK and Europe from April to June 2019 but is planning to take time out after
GARY Barlow plans to quit music for a year so he can experience more of what life has to offer.
The singer, 47, rose to fame with Take That in 1990 after working the pubs and clubs of Manchester and is still performing with them to this day.
Musician Gary wrote most of the band’s songs and embarked on his own solo career following their split in 1996, even working on solo projects after their reunion in 2005.
But he is now planning some time out from the music industry after Take That’s European tour next spring.
He told the Sunday People: “I am working so hard because I am planning a year off. A sabbatical.
"The last five years I have been working harder because I want to earn myself some serious time off. It might only be six months in reality but there's stuff I want to do.
"We don't know what is round the corner for any of us - I want to do it now.
"Things I want to do other than music that I've never had a chance to do."
Take That now perform as a trio – Gary, Howard Donald, 50, and Mark Owen, 46, with Jason Orange, 48, and 44-year-old Robbie Williams being past members.
