JOHN Barrowman screamed in terror after being locked in an underground cage and covered with thousands of critters during the latest terrifying Bushtucker Trial.
John could do nothing but wait to be saved by his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Fleur East, 31, during the scary Rotten Retrieval task.
The 51-year-old star was strapped down and covered in bugs and other critters while Fleur searched for keys that would unlock his cage.
The former X Factor winner was forced to confront large spiders and other jungle creatures in her race to save John from his ordeal.
Fighting her way through the webs while listening to her fellow contestant’s shrieks, Fleur described the trial as “torture” as she shouted: “Oh, John! I am trying to save you!”
Meanwhile, bugs can be seen crawling up John’s shorts and through his hair as he tries to reassure the singer that she can complete the trial.
The challenge comes after John was forced to leave the jungle to seek medical attention earlier this week.
The US actor suffered a nasty fall as he walked down some steps in the dark in the jungle.
Producers suspected a sprained ankle so whisked him off to hospital to have it X-rayed.
Bosses for the ITV reality show were forced to freeze the elimination votes as they weren’t sure whether John would be fit enough to return to the competition, however, after a night in isolation he returned to the jungle with a strapped up foot.
An Australian source said at the time: “Crew members wanted to make sure that John was medically safe, but once they saw him walking on it they were hopeful it was just a sprain.
“Once that was confirmed by an X-ray he was determined to get back to camp.
“He’s not a quitter and wants to see how far he can go in the competition. As well as finding it hard he’s relishing the challenge and loving getting to know new people.”
While in hospital John was on lockdown with producers making sure that he wasn’t allowed to communicate with family, check his phone, or watch TV.
He was given basic food because he missed a meal in camp.

However, John couldn’t resist joking with his campmates when he sent a message to them from his hospital bed.
He teased: “I am laying here sipping champagne in a hospital with six male strippers. Continue to live jungle life as normal.
“I want to be back in there with you all soon. But please get some rest this evening. Ps I want my f***ing dinner when I get back!”
It was previously revealed that John was paid £200,000 for his I’m A Celeb stint, with his former campmate Noel Edmonds landing three times as much at £600,000 – making him the highest paid campmate in the ITV reality show’s history.
