The DIY SOS star thought his son was winding him up when he told him about his chart success in a jungle letter
NICK Knowles "laughed his moobs off" after discovering his song got to number one and he's vowed to donate all the royalties to charity.
The I'm A Celebrity star found out he'd topped the iTunes chart in a letter from his son, but he was convinced the youngster was winding him up.
Nick, 56, released a musical offering called Every Kind Of People last year and his Universal Records disc has garnered new interest since his turn on the jungle reality show.
His cover of Make You Feel My Love made it to number one thanks to a campaign by Chris Moyles, and in a new interview with the DJ, Nick reveals he finds the news hilarious.
He said: "It made me literally laugh my moobs off when I came out...
"When I got my letters from my boys in the jungle, and when they said Chris Moyles and his team have got you to number one on iTunes I literally thought they were taking – I’ve gotta be careful – we’re such a wind-up family...
"I thought they were winding me up about my album.
"And then when I came out and actually it turned out to be true, I could not believe it...
"Honestly, I was literally wetting myself. It’s the funniest and most spectacular thing."
Nick went on to insist that any money he makes from the song will be donated to his favourite charities.
He added: "I’ll tell you now, if there are any royalties that come out of it, they’re all going to go to charities, the military charities I support.
Speaking on This Morning today, Nick showed off his impressive weight loss, saying he lost 2.2 stone in 19 days.
He also publicly apologised for wearing budgie smugglers to collect water for camp, which caused quite a stir with viewers.
