Ant McPartlin and ex Lisa Armstrong are ‘fighting over who gets dog Hurley at Christmas’
ANT McPartlin and his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong are "fighting over who gets the dog at Christmas", it has been reported.
Both Ant, 43, and Lisa, 42, want to have beloved chocolate Labrador Hurley with them over the festive period - with the pooch splitting the day between the two being considered as an option.
Speaking to, a source explained: "You would think they could move on with their lives now, but they're still clashing.
"They're on course to ruin one another's Christmas, as they've been rowing over who gets to spend it with Hurley - there's even talk that the pup will have to go between the two of them during the day.
"Ant's girlfriend must have hoped the drama over Hurley was at an end, but Lisa is making herself part of the day, whether they like it or not."
Lisa is thought to be spending New Year's Eve in Los Angeles with friends, and she is adamant that she should have Hurley to herself on Christmas Day as Ant will be with his new girlfriend, their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett.
General custody of Hurley had already been arranged during Lisa and Ant's bitter divorce, with the dog spending a week at each of the former couple's homes.
The five-year-old lab gets transported from Lisa's Chiswick home to Ant's rented London mansion by a private chauffeur, who is a long-time employee of Ant and his co-star Declan Donnelly.
The couple separated after 11 years of marriage amid Ant's ongoing battle with drink and drug addiction.
The star was then fined £86,000 in March after a drink drive car crash, with Ant announcing his break from work commitments soon afterwards.
The Geordie favourite has been focusing on his recovery while his usual co-host Dec went solo for the Britain's Got Talent live shows before teaming up with This Morning's Holly Willoughby for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
Earlier this week it was reported that Ant will be making his return to the limelight in the New Year.
Ant will rejoin Dec to film the auditions for Britain's Got Talent in January.
A source close to the star told The Sun: "Ant has completed his recovery and ITV has decided he is ready to be back at work for Britain’s Got Talent filming, which starts next month.
"It’s been an incredible difficult two-year period but he has been entirely focused on turning his life around in order to return to work.
"ITV is very excited about Ant and Dec being reunited – but Ant’s recovery has been everyone’s first priority."
