Inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s first Christmas together with turkey rows, tinsel dramas and travel plans
STACEY Solomon and Joe Swash spent their first Christmas together in their new home after taking the plunge and moving in together.
But Joe might have had a bit of a shock because Loose Women star Stacey, 29, is a self-confessed “control freak” when it comes to the most festive time of year.
The couple moved in together earlier this year after two years of dating, and excitedly planned their first Christmas together in their new home.
Speaking to Closer Magazine ahead Christmas Day, Stacey said: “We always visit everyone else, but this year I said ‘No, we’ve finally got our own home, we’re going to stay put and we’d love all of our family to join us’ – it’s a really big deal.”
Stacey and Joe, 36, spent the day with her two children Zach and Leighton, as well as Joe’s son Harry at some point.
The couple let the kids get involved with decorating their Christmas tree, but Stacey admits she becomes a bit obsessive about the bauble placement.
She explained: “Everyone calls me ‘Elf’ because I get so excited about Christmas. The tree goes up mid-November, my kids decorate it and then I redo it when they go to sleep – they stick all the decorations together instead of spreading them out, so I’m like Monica from Friends and turn it all around!”
It isn’t the only thing Stacey likes to dominate, as she’s also head chef in the kitchen.
She continued: “Joe likes to think he’s the chef but I’m a bit of a control freak, so I’ll take over.
“I’ll let Joe believe that he’s going to be a big part of it, and then he’ll end up just seasoning the Brussels or something!”
Stacey also revealed she is going to plan a “holiday or an experience” for her sons as they never really ask for presents, and has big plans to explore the world a bit more in 2019.
She said: “I’d love to travel and do some more educational trips.
“I’ve never done Asia – I’d really love to go to China and Japan, and I want to go to Burma because by granddad is from there.
“I’d love to learn about the culture – that would be amazing.”
