NETFLIX’S hit movie Bird Box has broken streaming records after being watched 45 MILLION times in its first week.
In just seven days, millions of people have watched the horror – and the streaming service says it’s the most any film has been watched in its first week, ever.
The company announced the news on Twitter, saying: “Took off my blindfold this morning to discover that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts have already watched Bird Box — best first 7 days ever for a Netflix film!”
The movie has been terrifying fans - and celebs - since it went online on 21 December.
Actress Sandra plays a mum-of-two living in a post-apocalyptic world under the threat of something supernatural.
The film's synopsis explains: "Five years after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide, a survivor and her two children make a desperate bid to reach safety.
“She lives with her windows covered up at home and only goes outside wearing a blindfold until they get a chance of freedom.
“But if they open their eyes, they'll be infected with something that will force them to violently kill themselves.”
It is based on a 2014 novel by Josh Malerman and directed by Susanne Bier.
The film also features actress Sarah Paulson, from American Horror Story, and The ABC Murders star John Malkovich.
