Coronation Street fans convinced NICK stole Audrey’s money from Archie Shuttleworth – not conman Lewis Archer

POOR Audrey Roberts discovered that all of her money from Archie Shuttleworth had been stolen in tonight's episode of Coronation Street.

However, viewers are convinced that it was actually her grandson Nick Tilsley who took the cash - not her late partner Lewis Archer.

Audrey was left heartbroken when she found Lewis dead in her bedroom earlier this week, clutching an engagement ring that he planned to surprise her with.

The ring seemingly explained Lewis' recent, shifty behaviour - but Audrey's daughter Gail maintained that she didn't trust him in tonight's episode of the ITV soap.

Gail's suspicions appeared to be confirmed when Audrey received a phone call revealing that the inheritance money from Archie Shuttleworth has been stolen from her account.

But fans' eyes were on Nick, who has been accused of looking "shifty", with some viewers speculating that he is actually the one who conned Audrey out of her money.

One cynic tweeted: "So Nick has stolen all of Archie’s money from Audrey and is pinning it on Lewis but did he hill him??? Nick is the new #Corrie super villain".

Another added: "So obvious Nick stole it and killed Lewis lol".

A third asked: "Why’s Nick so quiet over the missing money?"

Lewis first appeared in Coronation Street in 2009.

He initially had an on-off relationship with Audrey but broke her hear after stealing from Barlow's Bookies and fleeing the country.

However, he returned in 2012, and reunited with Audrey after paying back the money he stole and claiming to be a changed man.

They split up, partly due to pressure from Gail and barmaid Gloria Price who didn't approve of their relationship.

Gail then began a secret affair with Lewis after he promised her they'd move to Italy to start a new life.

But instead he duped her, stealing £40,000 from her bank account and doing a runner once again.

Despite his history, fans reckon that the smooth-talking conman could actually be innocent in this latest money scandal.
