GREASE legend Olivia Newton-John has laughed off rumours she has weeks to live in a video to reassuring fans she is not dead.
The 70-year-old, who was diagnosed with cancer for a third time in September, said: "Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
An American news site had claimed she was "clinging on to life", quoting an expert who insisted she was "almost certainly going to die".
But Olivia, who starred opposite John Travolta in 1978 classic Grease, posted a video on social media where she smiled and waved.
She said: "Happy New Year everyone, this is Olivia Newton-John. I just want to say that the rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote a very famous quote.
"I am doing great and want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 as possible."
She added: "Thank you all for your wonderful love and support for me and for my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia."
Olivia's niece Tottie Goldsmith earlier denied the claims, writing on Instagram: "Just giving you the heads up that Livvy is in good health, so let’s leave that distressing rumour where it belongs."
The movie icon revealed last year that she had been diagnosed with cancer for a third time, saying her stage-four breast cancer had metastasised to her spine.
In an interview on Aussie TV, she said: “I’m one of millions in this fight. I shouldn’t say fight. In this journey.”
She first beat the disease in 1992, before it returned in 2013 - which Olivia kept a secret.
A lump in her shoulder was discovered during a check-up after a minor car crash.
In December Olivia told how she used cannabis to stop her agonising pain as she battled the illness again.
She explained: “ I take a lot of natural herbs and healing remedies and also medicinal cannabis that's helped me a lot.
“'Initially I had a lot of pain. I don't have pain now.”
She added: “I'm so lucky. I'm married to an amazing man who is a plant medicine expert.”
