James Jordan reveals arthritis in his hips could hinder his chances on Dancing On Ice
JAMES Jordan may struggle on Dancing On Ice due to suffering from arthritis in his hips.
The former Strictly Come Dancing professional, 40, is taking part in the competition which starts on television channel ITV1 tonight.
And he has opened up about the troubles he’s been facing during his gruelling training sessions ahead of the series launch.
The star admitted that he isn’t that “flexible” despite his years working as a dancer.
He told Weekend magazine: “Ballroom and Latin dancers aren’t that flexible. WE don’t have to do that hip thing that other dancers do.
“Plus I’ve got arthritis in mine.”
He added: “I went to the doctor about I and he thought it was related to all the years of dancing I’ve done.
“But actually my sister has the same thing – she’s just had to have a hip replacement – so now we think it’s genetic.
“Our hip joints are not round where the ball goes into the socket. They’re slightly egg-shaped, which puts more strain on them.”
James also admitted he’s not found the rehearsals for Dancing On Ice easy, admitting he at one point regretted signing up for the show.
He said: “It’s so difficult. After the first few weeks of rehearsal, I was thinking, ‘What have I done?’
“I was so much worse than I thought I would be. The thing I hadn’t appreciated was how hard you go down when you fall.

“If you fall on Strictly you’re going to get a bruise or two. When you come down on the ice, you can do serious damage.”
James said: “In my twenties I was fearless. Now all I can think is, ‘I’m going to break my partner or my leg.’”
