When are the Bafta 2019 film awards?

This year's Bafta awards will take place TONIGHT (February 10, 2019).

Since 2002 the ceremony has been held in February to precede the Oscars and AMPAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).

This is to ensure they take place during the film industry's 'awards season.'

Before that they had been held in April or May.

How can you watch the Baftas LIVE?

The show, officially known as the Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards, will be aired on BBC One at 9pm.

There is a two-hour delay of its broadcast to allow producers to cut the running time down.

All those with a TV Licence can watch the channel free of charge.

If you don't have access to a television, it is possible to watch all BBC channels on your laptop, tablet, smartphone or computer live through the .

Additionally, if you miss the show, the entire programme will be available to watch on catch-up for a period of time afterwards.

Where are the Baftas 2019 being held?

This year, the Baftas are being held at the Royal Albert Hall as they have been since 2017.

Previously they had been held at Leicester Square's Odeon cinema from 2000 until 2008.

In 2008 they were held at Covent Garden's Royal Opera House.

Which stars are expected to attend the Baftas 2019?

National icon Joanna Lumley will of course be in attendance as she is hoting the ceremony this year.

In addition, the guest list is packed with famous names, including; Olivia Colman, Richard Madden, Richard E Grant, Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Steve Coogan, Viola Davis and Melissa McCarthy.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to attend as well.
