Dancing On Ice’s Gemma Collins is burning an extra 1,000 calories a day and has had the waist on her costumes taken in four inches after dramatic weight loss
Gemma Collins, 37, is spending two hours training on the ice everyday and the weight has melted away
GEMMA Collins has lost so much weight on Dancing On Ice that the waist of her glitzy costumes has been taken in by four inches since Christmas.
The Towie star, 37, is in training two hours a day burning 1,000 calories a time which has made her drop the pounds, her Dancing on Ice dance partner Matt Evers has revealed.
Matt is always partnered with the show's biggest signing from Pamela Anderson to Denise Welch and Jorgie Porter.
Gemma wowed viewers with her nimble splits on the ice last Sunday, and promises to deliver an even bigger showstopper next week.
"Gemma has never really been exposed to going to the gym, that's not what her passion is," Matt, 42, said in an exclusive chat with the Sun Online.
"So when we first started out we went from 15 mins on the ice, before having to sit down and have a break. Each week we would build it up and after five weeks I held her hands and said, 'Babes you do realise you've done 2 hours straight.'
"Now she is doing 2 hours training 3 times a week, burning at least 1 ,000 calories a time. Then there's a full studio day on Sunday and choreography on Monday which is even longer."
Gemma is being put through her paces by Matt who won the show in series 3 with Suzanne Shaw.
The American figure skating professional used to appear on Broadway and has been on Dancing On Ice since the beginning in 2006.
Now Matt's latest partner has admitted she feels sexier than ever thanks to her weight loss.
"The confidence that she has since she has been losing the weight - she feels sexier," he said.
"Last week at the costume fittings the wardrobe team had to take off four inches from her waist from where she was before Christmas. It's just incredible.
"She is really adamant about giving the curvier girls the motivation to get up off that couch for a little bit and just get moving. She wants to be a role model for that."
Despite Gemma being aself-proclaimed diva viewers would be shocked to know how sweet and kind the real GC is.
Matt said: "It's a dream team in the making, Gemma brings the energy to the show. I didn't know what to expect when I first met her. But once we got through those initial nerves I was working with her on the mental game of it as it is a lot of work.
"The real Gemma Collins is sweet, and kind. She's a friend for life. She talks to everybody.
"This is how sweet she is, she had only known me a few weeks and she invited me to her place for Thanksgiving and cooked me a delicious roast dinner as she knew I was missing Thanksgiving in America and how important it was to me.
"But The GC is her alter- ego. Her defence mechanism. She totally owns it!"
He teased next week's show saying: "What's next after the splits? Bigger production, bigger routines and bigger hair! Next week is going to be a showstopper too."
