PIERS Morgan has demanded a public apology from Holly Willoughby after she and Phillip Schofield used naked men to try and win National Television Award votes.
The 53-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter dubbed the move "sexist" - with GMB shortlisted for the same accolade as This Morning for the first ever time.
The two ITV programmes are going head to head in the Best Daytime Show category at this year's ceremony - with This Morning winning for the last seven years.
Yesterday morning, Holly and Phil promised viewers that the cast of Magic Mike Live would appear in their studio and perform a saucy, half-naked routine if they win again.
The promise irritated Piers, who ranted earlier today: "Halo Holly and Saint Schofield, they’re so desperate to cling onto this title they win every year at the NTAs, they’ve actually got a bunch of male strippers, naked in a very sexist and exploitative way."
He then played a clip of Holly and Phil from yesterday's show, adding: "Why would you need that? Imagine if I’d used a bunch of naked women.
"I’m actually very annoyed. I think This Morning are being sexist and exploitative. I think they should be ashamed of themselves.
"In fact, I want a public apology from Holly Willoughby, the queen of the jungle. I’d like her to apologise for this overt use of naked male flesh in a shameless attempt to prop up their flagging, desperate..."
After trailing off, Piers concluded: "They’ve won it every year for seven years but they’ve never had to come up against us."
Piers and his co-host, Susanna Reid, previously made a series of promises to GMB viewers to try and make them vote for the show.
Tee-total Susanna, 48, vowed to present the show drunk if they took home the gong - with Piers threatening to do the conga NAKED if they didn't.
Piers told viewers in yesterday's show: "I will wear my birthday suit, in all its glory, if we lose.
"I will strip naked and do a conga only if we lose."
He then cut himself off, quipping: "I'm not going to say that because we will lose."
The NTAs will take place on 22 January
