Here's everything you need to know about when it's back and who will be starring in the hit show...
When is The Walking Dead back from its mid-season break?
The show is set to return from its mid-season break on Sunday February 10th.
It follows suit of previous seasons (apart from season 8 which returned on the 25th Feb) and starts on the second Sunday of the month.
Each episode is shown in the US first before arriving on UK screens the day after.
Fox will air the series, but the episodes will also be available on AMC and NOW TV .
Who's in the cast?
Series 9 has seen a shake-up to the cast of The Walking Dead.
Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) returned after Rick decided to save Negan and keep him prisoner.
However, on November 4, Andrew made his last appearance as Rick in the TV series but show bosses were quick to announce the actor will be returning in three TV movies.
Norman Reedus (Daryl, Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Seth Gilliam (Gabriel), and Ross Marquand (Aaron) are back, too.
However, Chandler Riggs won't be returning as Carl since he died after being bitten by a walker in Season 8.
Meanwhile, Morgan, played by Lennie James has moved over to the spin-off show Fear The Walking Dead.
And Maggie Rhee will also be missing from the second part of the show as actress Lauren Cohan has signed up as the lead in new show Whiskey Cavalier.
What will happen in season 9 of The Walking Dead?
Series 9 has seen a dramatic change-up since Carl's shock death wasn't included in the original comic book series.
The season starts with a timeskip of about a year and a half from Season 8.
This does coincide with the comic's narrative after the All Out War story arc.
Season nine is also fan-favourite Andrew Lincoln's and Lauren Cohan's final season on the show.
