Who is Adeel Akhtar?

Adeel Akhtar was born on 18th September 1980 in London and is an actor.

His father is a Pakistani lawyer and he credits his mother - who is Kenyan- as the living person he most admires because she "smuggled me into the National Youth Theatre during summer time when my dad didn't want me to be an actor."

He was educated at Cheltenham College before training at the Actors Studio Drama School in New York.

Adeel has starred in a multitude of TV and film productions since 2002 when he made his onscreen debut in Let's Roll: The Story of Flight 93.

What else has Adeel been in?

Adeel is best known for his role as Muslim extremist Faisal in Chris Morris's 2010 film Four Lions.

Since then he has gone on to star in The Dictator, The Night Manager, The Big Sick and Victoria and Abdul to name a few.

He's now starring as Monsieur Thenardier in the BBC adaptation of Les Miserables.

Later this year he stars in mystery-comedy Murder Mystery which co-stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
