What is the Dancing on Ice curse, is it real and have any couples split up?
DANCING On Ice has skated its way back on to our screens but the hit show has now been plagued with rumours of its own 'Strictly curse.'
In past series romances have blossomed despite partners being in existing relationships. Here's what we know about the so-called curse....
What is the Dancing on Ice curse?
The Dancing on Ice curse is the show's equivalent to the so-called Strictly curse.
Throughout the course of the show, some participants have gone from skating partners to romantic partners.
And it's not all been smooth-skating as some of them were already in relationships outside of the show.
With the celebs and the pros training so close together for long periods of time, feelings can often brew between them.
Have any couples split up this series?
The Sun exclusively revealed that professional skater Alexandra Murphy had split from her long-term boyfriend.
And though her celeb partner Brian McFadden is still in a happy relationship with PE teacher partner Danielle Parkinson, the breakdown of Alexandra's relationship is just one of many throughout the show's history.
Here is a list of celebrities and dancers who have appeared on the show and split with a loved one shortly after:
Brianne Delcourt and Matt Lapinskas
EastEnders actor Matt and skating pro Brianne denied rumours of a romance after they were paired up on the series as Matt was in a relationship with his co-star Shona McGarty at the time.
After the series ended they announced they were a couple but both insisted their romance only developed after Matt had become single.
However after Matt moved on from Brianne with a theatre co-star the devastated skater spilt the beans to The Sun, saying:
"He pursued me behind Shona’s back. Lots of people warned me but I didn’t listen.
"I’ve stood by and lied for him about when we got together as I loved him and didn’t want to hurt Shona."
Sylvain Longchambon and Samia Ghadie
Pro skater Sylvain and Corrie star Samia may now be one of the success stories of the show after welcoming their son in 2015 and getting hitched in 2016.
But at the time they courted controversy as the French hunk had been in a two-year relationship with another soap actress - Jennifer Metcalfe.
At the time, the Hollyoaks star had told The Sun that the Frenchman had dumped her on Christmas Day, revealing:
"It's like death. I felt gutted. It was the worst Christmas ever.”
But Jen has now moved on with Geordie Shore star Greg Lake with whom she shares son Daye.
Frankie Poultney and David Seaman
The legendary England goalie and pro skater were paired together on the show but both in marriages at the time.
Following the end of the series they both ended their respective marriages and fell in love during the live tour in 2008.
They've turned out to be another success story as the couple went on to get married in 2015.
What is the Strictly curse?
The "curse" is a phenomenon that hits celebrities and their dance partners during their time on Strictly Come Dancing.
Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, their off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result.
Strictly became known as cursed after a series of very public break-ups from participants, and ever since more and more fan favourites have succumbed to the "curse".
Over the course of fifteen series of the BBC favourite, nearly a dozen couples have split up thanks to their time on the show.
