SINEAD Tinker has had Coronation Street viewers in tears tonight after she was kept out of reach of her baby.

The machinist - who is played by actress Katie McGlynn in the ITV soap - was given an emergency Caesarean after being told her cancer had grown and she needed urgent treatment.

But after she passed out having only briefly heard her tiny baby son cry before he was rushed into an incubator, Sinead was later devastated to realise she wasn't allowed to see him.

"Where is he? Where's my baby?" she cried to Daniel.

"Please will you take me to see him. I want to see my baby. I'm his mum, he needs me

Later Daniel decided to find a way to allow Sinead to meet her son over video chat.

"He's gorgeous, he's so small," she said sobbing into her phone as she looked at her baby son.

She added: "Hello my little boy. I'm sorry I can't come and visit you now but your daddy's got a present from me.

"I can't wait to see you, I can't wait to see you home. You came just a little bit too early and I'm a little bit too poorly to visit you right now.

"I've been poorly for quite a while but I'm going to get better now and I'm going to look after you, and hold you and protect you.
