Lisa Armstrong likes tweet supporting ex Ant McPartlin’s return to work on BGT after spending months criticising him on social media

ANT McPartlin's ex Lisa Armstrong unexpectedly threw her support behind the troubled Geordie's return to work today - liking a tweet telling him to "have a great day".

Lisa, who has communicated her feelings about her bitter split from the star almost exclusively through retweets and likes, hit the heart button on a picture of Ant and Dec.

The poster, Chris Yates, had shared the pic, from the official Ant and Dec account, and written: "Have a great day lads. Xx."

Ant today returned to work on Britain's Got Talent today after his conviction for drink-driving and the stint in rehab that followed.

However, Lisa will not be returning to her long-term role as the show's make-up artist, after being axed from the talent show in the wake of their break-up.

After the decision was made public in December, the 42-year-old was targeting posts of a very different nature.

One she retweeted hit out at Ant, saying: "How unjust, any decent bloke would of said he wouldn’t want your career to be compromised."

She has also liked tweets hitting out at Ant's new girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett, including one reading: "He swapped steak for luncheon meat and no matter who he ends up with they’ll always be second best.”

Lisa has previously been hit with a legal warning for previously liking tweets accusing her ex-PA Anne-Marie of being a “gold digger”, “backstabber” and “second best”.

Lisa and Ant, who were childhood sweethearts, married in July 2006 and announced they were divorcing in January 2018. The divorce was granted on October 16.

The host and his sidekick Dec, 43, headed to filming for Britain's Got Talent at the iconic London Palladium today after a year off from his TV work.

Ant pleaded guilty to drink-driving in April and was hit with a record-breaking £86,000 fine and a 20-month ban from driving.
