James Argent defends Gemma Collins and slams ‘unprofessional’ Jason Gardiner for ‘slating’ his girlfriend
JAMES Argent has defended his girlfriend Gemma Collins after Jason Gardiner branded her "lazy and mediocre".
The Towie star slammed the Dancing On Ice judge for his “disgusting and unprofessional” comments about Gemma, which came just days after Holly Willoughby also questioned her behaviour on the show.
Hitting back at the judge, who is known as Mr Nasty, Arg tweeted: “Your supposed to be judging the routine & giving your opinion. Not slating a contestant who you’ve only just met, You haven’t given her a chance! It’s disgusting & unprofessional.
“She’s worked so hard & tried. What’s your problem!? (sic)”
Yesterday Jason, who is known as Mr Nasty, told The Sun: "I can always see who’s lazy. Gemma is lazy. She doesn’t look like her heart is in it at all.
“I do despair — at the state of our society today and also the entertainment industry.
“When I grew up people were bloody good at what they did. They were exceptional at something, so you were inspired by people on TV.
“Now we celebrate mediocre in this country. That, it seems, has become the new celebrity.”
Jason also labelled Gemma "insecure" and urged her to stop complaining and start rehearsing as he worries she is a bad role model for young people.
Gemma was at the centre of a storm this week after the show’s hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby accused her of behaving unprofessionally behind the scenes.
They said she left before the end of Sunday’s live episode because she was “bored” and that she held up rehearsals while having a nap.
Gemma, 37, has hit back at the accusations, saying someone backstage was given the wrong information about her.
She described it as the “worst week” in her showbiz career, which has left her with suffering from extreme stress, lack of sleep and healthy issues.
