Emmerdale fans horrified as Cain Dingle is arrested for Joe Tate’s murder

EMMERDALE fans have been left horrified after Cain Dingle was arrested for the murder of Joe Tate.

The mechanic - who is played by actor Jeff Hordley in the ITV soap - was confronted by police in the pub over Joe's disappearance.

Cain was arrested in tonight's episode

"Mr Dingle," the officer said.

"Cain Dingle I'm arresting you on suspicion of the murder of Joseph Tate."

The other Dingles looked horrified at the news while Debbie, Moira and Faith sat in stunned silence as they panicked.

Earlier in the episode Cain's stepson Matty Barton discovered the truth about what happened when Faith Dingle accidentally let it slip.

As he questioned her, Moira and Cain walked in and had to confirm what had happened.

Viewers know Cain didn't actually murder Joe.

He punched him after Joe returned from being driven out of the village by Graham Foster and Kim Tate.

Cain thought Joe had abandoned his daughter Debbie on their wedding day and lashed out, knocking him to the ground where Joe hit his head on a rock.

Graham insisted on getting rid of the body but viewers saw his hand twitch as he was in the boot of Graham's car and while another scene hinted at Joe being killed, it was never shown on screen.

Now viewers are frustrated Graham has allowed Cain to take the wrap for a murder that he didn't commit.
