DEDICATING his award to late playwright Harold Pinter, Danny dropped multiple F-bombs to the delight of the audience
DANNY Dyer broke down in tears during an emotional winners' speech at tonight's National Television Awards - before swearing.
Host Dermot O'Leary was forced to apologise for the EastEnders' stars choice words as he accepted the award for Best Serial Drama Performance for his role as Mick Carter in the BBC soap.
"I can't believe that, wow, thank you," he said as he walked onto the stage.
He added: "I want to thank all of my EastEnders mob over there. I love you so much, honestly. You're like my brothers and sisters.
"I just want to say to all you young kids living out there in poverty, who don't think they've got a right to dream, or hope or believe - do not let where you come from define where you're going in life. You can be whoever you want to be."
When it came to dedicating his award, Danny told the audience he wanted to dedicate it to playwright Harold Pinter.
He began choking up as he said: "I want to dedicate this award to Harold Pinter, a man I loved very, very much and I miss him.
"He believed in me when no-one else did."
But as he spoke movingly about the late writer, Danny couldn't finish his sentence and swore instead.
He said: "I'm getting all f***ing emotional, I don't know what's the matter with me, for f***'s sake."
Host Dermot was forced to apologise for the swearing adding: "We're sorry about that but don't give the award to Danny Dyer. It's your fault!
"The script says I'm in Dyer need of another hit of Dyer but I'm not sure that's true."
Viewers were in hysterics at the scenes with one tweeting: "TV moment of the year already certain to be Danny Dyer swearing prolifically then dedicating his NTA to Harold Pinter. #NTAs #dannydyer"
Another added: "Danny Dyer just won an NTA and just started swearing in his speech. Iconic #NTAAwards"
