Who is Bryan Singer and what is his net worth?

Bryan Singer is an American film director, producer and writer who was born on September 17, 1965, in New York City and adopted by environmental activist Grace Sinden and business executive Norbert Dave Singer.

Always creative, Bryan started experimenting with photography and filmmaking in his teens.

After being educated at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, he attended the School of Visual Arts where he studied filmmaking.

He later transferred to Los Angeles' USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Bryan's big career break came not long after graduating University with his 1993 film Public Access which went on to be co-winner of the Grand Jury Prize at that year's Sundance Film Festival.

He's perhaps best known for directing The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil and the X-Men franchise.

Having worked on some of the biggest movies of our time, Bryan has amassed quite a fortune.

The filmmaker is worth a whopping $100 million - or in pounds that's around £77.5 million.

Bryan is openly bisexual and has spoken out about how growing up as a Jewish sexual minority influenced his movies.

The director welcomed a son with actress Michelle Clunie in January 2015.

What are the sexual assault allegations against Bryan?

In January 2019, Bryan was accused of sexually assaulting four boys.

The four, now men, allege the American filmmaker, 53, had sex with them in the 1990s.

One of them, Victor Valdovinos, told US magazine the Atlantic he was a 13-year-old extra on set of movie Apt Pupil when X-Men director Singer fondled him.

Another claimed he had sex with Singer when he was 15.

A third man said he was 17 when he began having sex with the director.

The fourth alleged he and Singer had oral sex when he was 17 or 18.

In the US, age of consent varies from state to state.

Singer denies all the allegations.

Why did Bryan leave Bohemian Rhapsody's production?

On December 1, 2017, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that 20th Century Fox had temporarily stopped production of Bohemian Rhapsody due to Bryan's "unexpected unavailability" after he reportedly failed to turn up to set after Thanksgiving.

The director's representatives attributed his absence to his elderly mother suffering from pneumonia.

But other sources claimed that lead actor Rami Malek - who plays Freddie Mercury - and other members of the crew were getting irritated by his behaviour and frequent lateness.

On December 4, 2017, Bryan was fired as director despite just two weeks of principal photography remaining.

He was replaced by actor and director Dexter Fletcher but still received directorial credits.
