Mariah Carey has signed up for her first London residency at the Royal Albert Hall
It will be the music icon’s first non-Christmas shows here in three years, performing at London’s most famous concert hall from May 25 to 27
SHE’S lived the high life in Las Vegas with residencies there since 2015, but now she is swapping the bright lights of Sin City for the hustle and bustle of London.
I can reveal Mariah Carey will be coming to the capital this year after securing a three-day residency at the Royal Albert Hall.
It will be the music icon’s first non-Christmas shows here in three years, performing at Dublin’s 3Arena before her string of shows at London’s most famous concert hall from May 25 to 27.
A tour insider said: “Mariah has capitalised on her success as the Queen of Christmas for the last few years but now she is shifting the focus back to her new tunes.
“She sees her 15th studio album Caution as one of her best releases ever and wants to bring it to British fans in a special setting.
“The landmark shows will be extra special and she is lining up some of her most shocking outfits to make sure it goes with a bang.
“Mariah will be bringing her kids on the road too after they went down a storm at her Christmas shows.
“She feels like she’s in the best shape in years and wants to put on a show to really command attention.”
The dates will form the first section of the European leg of her Caution world tour, which will go on to Paris and Hamburg before continuing around the continent.
Tickets for the shows go on sale on Friday through LiveNation, ahead of the launch of the US leg at the end of the month, which she is well into rehearsals for.
During her career across the past three decades, Mariah has scored 39 top 40 singles in the UK and spent 73 weeks within the top ten of the album chart.
With all of those hits under her belt, she will have plenty to choose from when it comes to her set list.
