Shipwrecked fans shocked as Sara Murphy becomes second contestant quits in two days
The 22-year-old decided to pack her bags and fly home after fans watched an emotional Sara consider her future on the show
SHIPWRECKED fans revealed their shock after Sara Murphy became the second contestant to quit the E4 show in two episodes.
The 22-year-old decided to pack her bags and fly home after fans of the E4 Show watched an emotional Sara consider her future on the series.
Sara told her fellow islanders her decision in the morning and said: “Honestly, you guys are so amazing but obviously I have a boyfriend on the outside and it has been quite difficult.
“Mainly just for personal reasons, I’m going to go home.
“It’s nothing to do with you guys, you guys have been amazing. It’s for me, I’m doing it for myself and that’s that.”
Josh Christie also headed home earlier his week, with the dropouts leaving viewers with unanswered questions.
One person said on Twitter: "Why didn't Emma get to stay as Sara left, like Troy did when Josh left?"
Another agreed and said: "I’m confused, how come when Josh left tigers Troy got a place, but when Sara left sharks the space wasn’t replaced..."
Another wrote: "why didn't the Sharks get a replacement for Sara like the vile Tigers did for Josh?
"And why did the girls only get one daft challenge and the boys got 3 physical challenges? Seems a bit sexist not thinking girls could do the same physical challenges as the boys."
Josh revealed earlier this week that a "family emergency" had forced to him to head home.
He gathered the islanders at the beach party: “Listen guys, I don’t want anyone to get upset but I’ve got something to say.
“I’ve been in touch with family back home, I’ve been notified that I have a family emergency so this has caused me to leave with immediate effect from this competition. I’ve met some really good people and I don’t want you guys to get upset.
“It’s just something that I have to do so, yeah, I’m sure you guys all understand.”

He later told the camera: “I’m actually so happy for the time I’ve been given. I think I’ve met a real good bunch of people.”
The programme, which is supposed to be a battle between islands, has come under fire for being "easier" than past series.
One person said on Twitter: "This experience has been so much easier than previous series. Acommodation built and lots of food. More like a holiday camp"
Shipwrecked continues weeknights at 9pm on E4.
