Tributes to Cadet led by Ian Wright and Example after the UK rapper dies in crash aged 28
The London-born artist was described as one of the next big names on the UK rap scene
FOOTBALL pundit Ian Wright has led the tributes to rapper Cadet following the news of his death age, 28.
The 55-year-old branded life as "cruel" as he described the rapper as his "lil bro" in the touching post about Cadet, real name Blaine Johnson, who was killed when the taxi he was travelling in crashed in the early hours of this morning.
He wrote: "RIP my lil bro #Cadet #UnderratedLegend Life can be so cruel. Thinking of the family, friends and all his fans."
Ian then retweeted a clip of him rapping, which described him as "one of the greatest storytellers of our generation".
Rapper Example revealed his shock and sadness at losing such a “humble” friend after seeing him just last week to talk about him performing at Wireless.
He wrote: “Was chatting to you only last week about how excited you were for some festivals this summer.
“So much positive energy. Smiling nonstop when I was with you, first time we met I felt as if I’d known you my whole life. Mad humble guy. RIP Cadet .”
Fellow rapper Giggs expressed his upset, writing: “Proper sad and shocked to hear this. Really sorry to Cadets family man,prayers and blessings to his family at this hard time. RIP CADET.”
Lethal Bizzle wrote: “Rest in peace Cadet. Thank you for the memories. Thank u for always keeping the same energy when we bump into each other.
“One of the most humble and modest people I’ve met. You and your talents will be deeply missed. RIP.”
Deno Driz, who freestyled with Cadet on his hit Advice, simply shared a picture of a series of broken hearts and the word ‘bro’.
Comedian London Hughes, wrote: “Just found out about Cadet, I’m in so much shock, I’m in a club right now just staring at my phone in disbelief! I literally saw him the other day!!
“He was such a lovely man! Life is so short and unfair and I don’t understand it. My heart goes out to his family Rest in peace.”
DJ Semtex shared a video on Twitter and said: "Cant believe it... I was on stage with him last week. Never seen a man so happy. Everything was working out for him.
"This was gonna be his year. We were plottin [sic] on the best time to do an interview on his next single. Rip Cadet".
The London-based artist was travelling in a taxi when it is believed to have crashed. He passed away in the early hours of this morning.
His family broke the news in a post to the star's Instagram account shortly after 7am, writing: "We the family of Blaine Cameron Johnson otherwise known as Cadet (Underrated Legend) would like to share the sad news that during the early hours of February 9th 2019 he passed away as a passenger in a taxi, en route to a performance.

The artist was dubbed as one of the next big names in the British rap industry.
He enjoyed chart success last summer with his viral hit Advice which started off as a freestyle with his friend the singer Deno.
In recent months Cadet had been touring the country promoting his music. He was due to perform at the Wireless Festival later this year.
