Miley Cyrus takes Liam Hemsworth’s surname after getting married last year
LIAM Hemsworth is thrilled that his new wife Miley Cyrus has chosen to take his surname, after getting married last year.
The Hollywood hunk, 29, and the popstar, 26, wed in a private ceremony over Christmas and now she has officially become Mrs Hemsworth.
Speaking in an interview on LIVE Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest he said: “She'll still be obviously known [professionally] as Miley Cyrus but she took my name which is great.
“That was honestly one of the best things about it. I didn't ask her to take my name but she was like, ‘no, of course I'm taking your name’.”
The loved-up couple wed in December six years after getting engaged.
Fans were first tipped off they were hitched when photos of the pop star and Hunger Games actor cutting wedding cake and surrounded by family members appeared online.
Their pal Conrad Carr shared video and a photo from the intimate bash on Instagram which revealed 'Mr and Mrs' balloons behind Liam and his groomsmen.
Miley wore a glamorous ivory off-the-shoulder gown and hunky Australian Liam is seen in a suit.
The loved-up pair haven't stopped gushing about each other since they got married.
Last month Miley penned a heart-warming tribute to Liam on his birthday.
