The second film will be based around autumn returning to Arendelle and has a confirmed release date of November 2019.

The teaser clip shows Queen Elsa use her magical powers to run across the sea - freezing the waves as she goes.

She appears to be in some peril as she fearlessly makes her way across the ocean alone.

But she isn't on her own for long as she is soon reunited with her sister Princess Anna, Kristoff, snowman Olaf and reindeer Sven.

The new film appears to be an action-packed adventure and fans of the original rushed to Twitter to voice their excitement.

"I've been waiting for this moment!" one excited fan tweeted.

While others commented the trailer looks "truly magical" and "amazing".

Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee returned to direct the film, with producer Peter Del Vecho also back.

Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell are back as Elsa and Anna with both stars tweeting about the film's release date.

Kristen wrote: "Quick weather forecast from your favourite Disney princess' sister: Theatres are gonna get Frozen on November 27 2019! Woo Hoo!"

Idina added: "It's all happening! All my Elsas say ho!" while Josh Gad, who played lovable snowman Olaf urged fans to "mark your calendars."

The plot is unsurprisingly being kept well under wraps.

Producer Peter Del Vecho previously told US mag : “Now that we’ve been involved in it for awhile, what’s exciting is it feels like it builds on the first movie.

"You understand things better in the first movie after you’ve seen the sequel.”
