ORLANDO Bloom proposed to Katy Perry at a stunning Valentine's themed surprise party in front of her whole family.
The 34-year-old singer was "totally shocked" as she walked into a candlelit room filled with red heart balloons and her friends wearing 'OK' initial hoodies to celebrate Orlando and Katie's love.
A source exclusively tells The Sun Online: "Katy was totally shocked. Everyone knew what was planned apart from her.
"Orlando had planned the whole thing – a party with friends and family, Valentine’s themed decorations and matching hoodies for guests."
The 42-year-old actor took a modern approach to his engagement preparations as he asked asked both Katy's dad and mum for their daughter's hand in marriage.
Devout Christians Mary Perry and Keith Hudson are bound to have been touched by the gesture before the extravagant bash.
"He’d asked her parents – not just her dad – in advance for their permission and of course they said yes," the source continued.
"They love him and everyone’s so happy they’re engaged. In the past, her love life has been such a rollercoaster and this relationship is so grounding. They’re head over heels in love and the proposal was just perfect."
Katy took to Instagram this morning to confirm the news after fans shared pictures from her engagement party last night.
"In bloom," she commented, sharing a picture of her pink diamond engagement ring.
Last night fans spotted pictures they say were taken from her mum Mary Hudson’s Facebook page of Katy’s engagement party overnight.
Captioned “look who got engaged last night”, the post shows two blurry photos of Katy and Orlando under a heart-shaped arch made of balloons and the pink diamond ‘engagement ring’.
Katy was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, and Orlando was married to Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr from 2010 until 2013 - who he shares a son with.
After the post was shared, fans went into meltdown, with one posting: “KATY AND ORLANDO ARE ENGAGED!!! #Kabloom AHHHHHHH. Congrats, @KatyPerry WE LOVE YOU.”
Another added: “KATY PERRY IS DUCKING ENGAGED OMG. I AM ON THE FLOOOOOORRR.”
A third fan posted: “KATY PERRY IS ENGAGED I’M CRYING.”
Katy and Orlando have been dating on and off for three years since getting together at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016.
They split in March 2017, issuing a joint statement saying they were “taking respectful, loving space at this time” before The Sun confirmed they had reunited last year.
